When you create a MoneyTide account, we collect your email address and create secure authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from these authentication providers.

This information is essential for providing MoneyTide's core functionality and is processed securely.
Device Information
To ensure proper functionality, MoneyTide collects limited device information:

MoneyTide does not collect:

Using Your Data
Core Functionality
Your data enables MoneyTide to provide expense tracking, budget management, and financial analytics. This includes generating financial insights and visualizations based on your spending patterns.
Multi-Device Synchronization
To sync your data across your devices, MoneyTide securely stores your information in our cloud database. Your data is protected during transmission using secure HTTPS connections and is also encrypted while stored on our service providers' servers.
Shared Expenses
When you choose to share expenses with others, MoneyTide shares only the specific expense information needed for this feature with the people you select. This information includes expense amounts, descriptions, and payment status.
App Improvement
We use anonymized usage data and performance metrics to identify and fix technical issues, optimize app functionality, and prioritize new features. This analytics data cannot be used to identify individual users.
Sharing Your Data
With Other Users
When you explicitly choose to share expense information with specific people, we share only the details necessary for the shared expense functionality. Other users never have access to your personal expenses or financial data that you haven't specifically shared.
With Service Providers
MoneyTide uses trusted third-party service providers to operate the app:
- Cloud database and storage providers - For securely storing your data and enabling synchronization
